In 2007, the Upper Uwchlan Township Emergency Management Planning Commission (EMPC) undertook the preparation of this Emergency Services Study. The study examined five years of Computer Aided Dispatch call data that included 2,403 EMS/Fire calls and 8,639 dispatches. The primary objectives of the study include:

  • To analyze the frequency and location of EMS calls and their relationship with land development growth in Upper Uwchlan Township from 2001 to 2006.
  • To estimate the future demand for Emergency Management Services when Upper Uwchlan Township is completely built-out according to current zoning criteria.
  • To provide a basis to determine existing and proposed EMS capacities in terms of facilities, equipment, personnel and service areas and how these capacities must be increased to address the estimated future service needs at full build-out.
